An excellent weekend with Chillteens!

We just started production on their new album. This will be chock-full of tasty jams, and sweet sounds. 🤘😎🤘

Another excellent session over the weekend 🙏

It was great to have Ryan Gardiner back at the studio. We recorded together a year or so ago, so it was great to have him back. This time he wanted to record with a band live, brought bass player Josh, and enlisted the help of the resident drummer, S...

Working with Dylan at Shiftwork is always amazing! I’ve been in as a session player, and was just recently in with my own band. Not only does he do a great job and produce awesome recordings! He also takes the time to teach me a little bit about what he’s doing and how he approaches recording! I always leave with a lot to reflect on and I see improvements in my home recordings because of it! Highly recommend Dylan’s services you will not be disappointed! The photo below is my band after our rhythm tracks were finished, don’t you want to be that happy too ?

I've had the privilege to record at Shiftwork with two bands that I'm involved with, Keegan & the Vandalorians and The Historical Inaccuracies. The first thing that caught my attention was the amazing drum sound, a sure sign of a great studio! While extremely professional, it's Dylan's warmth and friendliness that sticks out the most to me. This helps relieve much of the pressure that is involved in the recording process and helps you achieve the best possible result. When you are at Shiftwork, you are among friends! The endless supply of Bubly sure as heck doesn't hurt either :-). Dylan is an expert at his craft. His work speaks for itself. I look forward to working with him again in the future!

My experience at Shiftwork with Dylan was exceptional. We worked really well together and I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently we worked together while even having a lot of fun. Of course it's also an asset to work with an award winning songwriter and performer. I highly recommend planning your next project with Shiftwork.

Shiftwork Recording is a full production recording studio located in the heart of downtown Fredericton owned and operated by myself, Dylan Ward. Being a musician and songwriter, the long standing Head Sound Technician at Fredericton’s staple music venue, The Cap, and recording engineer and music producer at Shiftwork, I play an active role in many parts of the music industry, and bring that experience to every project at Shiftwork.

The goal of my work is to help artists realize their music vision, and to create a recording that represents the uniqueness of who they are. Services include:

RECORDING: The production process of capturing each individual element of a song(s). Drawing from my experience as a live sound technician, I am fond of recording bands/groups live-off-the-floor (where everyone is playing together all at once) for the ensemble energy that gets captured. Please contact for a full equipment and instrument list.

MIXING: The post-production process to the recorded material. The goal is to enhance the sonic quality of the material, and to help convey the emotional feeling of the song. I Mix in a hybrid fashion, combining analogue processing through specialized equipment and "in-the-box" digital processing.

MASTERING: The final post-production process to the recorded material. This process is both creative and technical, and similar to mixing; To enhance the sonic quality, but also to meet audio standards so that the material can properly be played back on a variety of different platforms and systems.

PRODUCING: As a music producer I work with the artist pre-production to develop a good foundation of song material, honing song arrangements, melody & harmony, and instrumentation to prepare the artists for their best execution come time for the recording.

VOICE OVER: The studio offers a diverse array of professional-grade microphones to best match any voice, and dense sound isolation for a clean and clear recording. Previous work done for an Anime Cartoon, Video Game & Podcasts
